At the Manchester Youth Theatre in September 1973, David Bamber made his acting debut as Pandarus in Troilus and Cressida. Beginning in 1983, he began working on English TV series and dramas such Who Bombed Birmingham?, Heavy Weather, The Doctor and the Devil, Hip Hopes, and Privates on Parade. He earned the Laurence Oliver Award for Best Actor in 1997 for his work as Guy in the movie My Night with Reg.
Additionally, he received praise for his portrayal in The Buddha of Suburbia and Pride and Prejudice, both of which included prominent parts.David is well recognized for his performance as Marcus Tullius Cicero in the HBO and BBC2 television series Rome.
